Today was another hot day. In the mid to upper 80's. Winds were turbulent. Started as East winds, then turned North West. I felt sluggish at first. I got better as the ride went along. I think I made it to Route 202 in average time. I climbed Banducci in moderate to good tempo. Pushed a little bit over the wall as there was traffic behind. I recovered on the false flats and continued with Good tempo to the summit. I took a quick breather then commenced the descent. At this point, the wind had turned into a headwind, which is what I like. The descent was mostly fun and games, practicing my tuck position. I did moderate to good tempo on the way out to SS. I held most of that momentum to the summit. From there, more fun practicing my tuck position. I was planning on stopping at the quickie mart for drinks, but decided against it, as there seemed to be too many people. Just like me to avoid the crowds. After exiting SS, I did moderate tempo till I reached Pelliser. I kept the moderate tempo going till I reached the last climb. I passed Boss Hogs in around 1:19 hours. By the time I reached the last climb, I had only a few gulps of drinks left. I rationed what was left. I was doing moderate to good tempo, with a bit of a kick over the summit. From there, I knew I could last without anymore drinks, so I drank what I had left. Leaving one last gulp for when I reach Mariposa. After crossing the last false flat, I recovered as much as I could and had fun and games going down OTR and all the way back. Concentration was real good, some lapses, really just the case of the crazies at some points. Ailments consisted of right hand numbness. Balance and form was good, not great. Still not a perfect hook up with my right leg. Gear is working well. Some mystery clicks persist. Other notes, I saw no other cyclists today.
Other notes... This is the second time I rode with the Mr. Tuffy's on my front and rear tires. So far, I've yet to feel any difference.
Other notes, I forgot to bring my bail-out bar. Fortunately, I did not need it on this ride!
