I wasn't sure this ride was going to happen but I was getting depressed not riding and with joint pains going thru the roof! I did several changes to the New
Scott Foil: replace stem with carbon much shorter stem (required bar angle and new carbon computer/camera mount set and light mount angle rest) also took a while to modify the top aero stem cover cap; changed out the 50x34T chainring with 52x36T (requiring front derailleur adjustment and re-calibration to the Di2 for changes made); lowered saddle and adjusted brakes centering... all this plus setting bike up all my bike accessories before ride. I also did work on the Specialized Tarmac, New wheels, tires, tubes, cassette and brakes pads (brake alignment, cable adjustments front and rear), My back was killing me but I wanted/need to to test ride both bikes. Intending to do a short easy ride, I went out to Rte 70 Northeast. The temps were very nice and cool... but it was humid a very weird feeling cool and sweating with a nice little wind! To my surprise and amazement, my back was not killing me and the bike fit felt OH so great... I did have some pains left knee and my butt, LOL. I decided to go to Rte 539 (Super WaWa) and turn around, I was feeling good at the turn around, I noticed the shoulder was newly paved so I decided to go to the next traffic light not wanting to go all the way to the Lakehurst circle I turn left onto another newly paved road great 2 miles made a left onto the road that would take me back to Rte 539. I thought the road was newly paved too, it wasn't there was a big pot hole at where the new road ended and the old started, of course they couldn't fill the giant pot hole or just go another 2 feet, At least this section of road was too bad, no pot holes just not as smooth with some road cracks and bumps but nice otherwise, Rte 539 to my turn was newly paved too, so most of the ride was on great roads.! Now the the fit was amazing making a very responsive bike even more fantastic. i could feel my pedal effort going directly to the the wheels no wasted energy and finally felt my pedaling was was complete circle with no loss of effort at the bottom of my pedal stroke as it had been for longest time. I was having issues way back coming over the top of the pedal stroke finally fixed that which now my power was super at the top but nothing at the bottom and along the back. This really effected my hill climbing I'm looking forward to hit some major climbing in August. This ride was much better than I was expecting and so glad I didn't wimp out and did the ride. On to test ride two...
