Great day today! The wind was from the South, but moderate. It's in the upper 60's, sunny skies. A good day for Keene. I dinged my left outer knee the other day. So, it's been a bit sore. Today was the first day that it felt back to normal. It did not detract from my ride today. I made it to the summit in good average time. Sufficiently warmed up by the time I got there. I cruised the downhill. Soft-pedaling most of the way. I put in two digs over the risers. I stopped at the Loop Monument to take video footage. From there, I headed to the base. When I made it there, I headed back, no stopping. As I planned while descending, I pulled over at the Chavez Center to remove my knee warmers. After stashing the knee warmers in the Fidlock on the fork, I got back on the road. There was a headwind, but it was mild. The landmarks ticked over quickly. I was putting patience in the front of my mind. I was keeping the tempo steady. No digs or red-lining. The morale increased as I passed the difficult parts. My knees were cooperating today. After reaching the summit, I let up and recovered. From there it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. I was in the zone most of the time. Minimal lapses. Gear worked perfect. Ailments were minimal. Some hints of right knee soreness that didn't escalate. My left out knee was ok. The hands didn't go numb. Balance and form felt good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had most of my Gatorade, no water. Other notes, no other cyclists. There were some tourists at the Loop Monument as I was descending and climbing.
