Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

It's miserable outside. Good excuse for riding indoors. I chose the Makuri isle Temples and Towers. It's a 20.5 mile loop with 1046 feet of climbing. Unfortunately, the trainer is exhibiting issues delivering the proper resistance. I thought I figured out the solution. I tried pairing the trainer with Zwift using both bluetooth and Ant+. Neither seemed to work. The PC detected the trainer's sensors, but the resistance delivered was constant and not variable. So, it looks like the trainer has gone bad. About the ride... Given that I was stuck in one resistance mode, I didn't get much out of it. The wattages on the climbs were elevated compared to normal. I got 2nd place on one of the KOM climbs. I could have gotten first, but I backed off. If I could have forfeited my results, I probably would have. At least the resistance given was enough to get a modest workout in. My concentration was that of frustration more than anything. Balance and form felt ok. Ailments were next to none. At least my knees got a break on this workout. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had about 1/4th of my Gatorade and a sip of water. Other notes, there were about 9000 riders at the start of my ride. the PC was having a tough time keeping up. Most of the time, the PC was above 30FPS, so the animation looked smooth.
