A VERY nice downhill day. And OH! did that shower feel good after five days of riding hard and nice hot afternoons. It also feels good to be physically exhausted from giving all I’ve got. Admittedly, some of the reason I was tired today came from a poor night. For some reason instead of crashing when my head hit the pillow, I cried for an hour and a half! Then I woke up at every little sound, it was so strange. I don’t know if it comes from stopping long enough to think about a few things that are sad/frustrating to me, or the emotional depletion that comes with the physical? Anyway, not something I was able to prepare for beforehand and I’m not really sure what to make of it. Tonight Dee realized his bike battery keys bounced out of his pack somewhere on the way here. We couldn’t find them, but two pieces of really good news, 1) We found his little charger that bounced out, and his wallet stayed in! 2) I recently went through replacing my own keys, and knew how to get the code for him and get them ordered when Abus locks opens tomorrow AM. Kathy really worked on Cliff’s knee tonight as it looks a little infected and wept all day. He threatened to cry.🤭 Laundry facilities here tonight, so good!! One bad thing about me getting way overly tired is I get grumpy if provoked. I’m going to bed as quickly as possible, and stay out of trouble! 😅🫢😇 Thank you for your prayers. I rode a little fast down those curvy hills today, to be honest. I remember telling God thank you three different times. Skidding at 30 mph with bare arms and knuckles would be so bad. Oh yeah! We drove through Damascus today, where are the Appalachian trail hiking north and south crosses the Transamerica bike trail running east and west. Fun little town.
