How do you walk over 2 miles mostly in one little room in 11 minutes and not realize it?!😁
I called the bike shop near the end of the day and my part did indeed arrive. YES!! The tech is out on Weds, which I found out late Mon and thought, “what are the chances?!” feeling stuck a little longer. But it gave me a second rest day which was so good. Yesterday I was numb and didn’t accomplish anything, today I caught up on communication, paid bills, worked on an accommodation [THANK you, Terri Hill!], hydrated, stretched, final laundry, read. Very, very nice.
My little window friend was back, with a buddy.💕
Late this afternoon while I was waiting for a salad, I saw a man I had noticed in the lobby on crutches. I asked him why he needed them and he said his hip (& more) were replaced because of cancer which was contained and is gone. I asked when and he said September. He had been ignoring it and taking pain meds for two years thinking it was a pulled groin, until his sister got sick of his complaining and made him go to the doctor. After tests he was told he had a blood cancer, and x-rays showed cracks in his hip bone where it was working its way through, close to breaking out into his system, and that if he had waited longer he would be gone now. We talked about that. He said he was lucky and I said maybe protected. He said MAYBE someone was watching out for him, and I prayed for complete healing to be able to walk without the crutches. We talked about several things in just 15 minutes then I went on to my room. Crazy how some conversations are so deep and natural immediately. I will marvel at this one for some time.
I talked with Kathy earlier this evening and Dee had a repair to his pedal shafts, so he and Cliff & Kathy will ride out together tomorrow. Tonight they are with our friend James Barlow from JBC who moved here a year ago. I am SO excited to see him, just one day later.
Since I can’t ride until sometime after noon, I can’t make it to James’s before dark so his friend will meet me in his pick up around 5:00 to bring me the rest of the way in. Then Friday with more help at the start of my ride, and a marathon on Saturday, I should catch up with my team that night. It will be good to be together again!
I’m loading up on dog spray before leaving tomorrow.😁
Can you believe we are a quarter of our way through?!
I look at this route and realize more and more that together we are accomplishing beyond what we know of God‘s heart for this nation.
We pray as a team. And you strengthen me. Thank you for the privilege of partnership!
Love, Terri
