Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Went riding today in the mid afternoon. The weather was warm. Warmer than the last ride. I tried using the Virtual Partner on the GPS. It worked, but really didn't prove useful for the time being. I don't want to make every ride a race, so I'm probably going to opt out on this feature. I cruised the way out, no heroics. I knew I was going to need my strength for the return ascent, which was true. I started at a modest tempo and gradually lifted up the pace as I made it to the top of the climb. So ailments, were actually under control. I had a slight soreness in the right knee, which went away after a few minutes later. The heat is what really got me. I just couldn't lift the pace at the lower elevations. But, it wasn't unbearable. I had to just pace and stay within myself. So, concentration, was ok. Lapses here and there, but I made it back safe and sound. Balance was a little off today, I just kept reminding myself where my body should be shifting. It worked. I'm trying to see how exactly the Gopro is working with the Battery Bacpac. It's a little unpredictable. On my home tests, it locked up a few times. Reseating the battery seemed to fix it. But if I were on the road, I wouldn't want that to happen. GPS, working well, no problem with the gradient reading today.
