It's getting warmer. I had lab in the morning. When I got back, I had breakfast and took care of some business. I was going to take a nap, but the morale felt good, so I decided to get out ASAP. Keene n Back seemed to be the ideal ride. Weather is in the 80's. Wind was from the North West. It shifted 180 when I got back from Keene. I didn't bother to check the time at the summit of the descent. It was likely good average time. I put in two good digs over the risers. After making it to the base, I checked the GoPro battery. All was well, so I headed back up the mountain without further delay. The legs felt pretty good. Didn't take much for the climbing legs to kick in. I was doing moderate tempo. It was warm and I had a tailwind. Time seemed to go a bit slower than cooler days. I felt the minutes tick by as I was trying to remain cool and prevent overheating from red-lining it. After reaching the Loop Monument, I was feeling better in the morale. I had a bit more shelter from the sun. After the second dip, the temperature was lower (being higher in elevation). I was listening to my music and predicting if I would make it to the summit before the song ended. Turns out, I did. From there, I tried to bring the HR down gently. Mostly relaxation back to home. Concentration was good. Few lapses. The morale felt good. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had most of my Gatorade and about half water. Balance and form felt good. Aillments, hand numbness. A bit while in the saddle too. Will have to consider rasing the handlebars. Other notes, there were some people at the Loop Monument as I was descending. There were people working on the rail road tracks on the Loop.
