Made the "standard" quadrants ride a little bigger by using the Anacostia Trail to Bladensburg and then up the Sligo Creek valley, even if mostly in MD at that point. Deliberately chose this route to see how my breathing held up annnnnd ... it was fine. The climbs are not many and not steep (well mostly). Steady output kept my heart rate between 130 and 150 and nothing like the crazy experience at Allegrippis. Dan said he thought the pollen in the air was less, so that's what we're going with: Dude gonna be fine once pollen leaves. Nice day after a week of on-and-off rain; mid-70s, a steady breeze, so not ridiculously hot or humid. Lots of people out on the Capital Crescent Trail (5.1 to 12.1) and a bunch on the waterfront but Anacostia and Sligo Creek nah. Felt good the whole time. Tired after but in a good way. Contact points held up. Not so concerned about the Tour dem Parks (40 miles) on June 12 now... Also, no sign of aggressive wild turkeys on the Anacostia Trail, though there were warning signs. SMH.
