Colorado is beautiful. Another completely unexpected day! Only able to whisper all day. It’s funny, it causes people around me to whisper sometimes, it’s just natural😁. I think the hot springs did me good and I stayed a LONG time, but since then I just wanted to sleep, like a recovery sleep to get well. I had 74 more miles incl the mountain circled in a picture, and I was quaking a little at the thought. When it started heavy wind & rain, something in me said, "That's it," and I ducked into a motel that was right there. Dee who runs it has has taken such good care of me♥️. A bike rag, honey & tea, lactose free milk, salad for dinner, and throat lozenges💕 She put me in a quiet room near the office w/ good wifi, let me bring my bike in, and it is the most warm and clean and charming place EVER. And after ALL that, the sun came right back out and she laughed and seriously offered my $ back if I wanted to move on after all. I thanked her and said No, I’m sure I was stopped here bc God knew better than I did that I needed to stop and let my body get well. I’m realizing that, while much of this trip includes me getting to sow into the lives of others, it is also about graciously receiving the incredibly sweet things people do for me. And being grateful & humble. I think my voice frightened Dee’s granddaughter Paisley, so I was glad for this moment on the bench. I was going to leave at 5am but will actually get up and go without an alarm. I think I will feel much better tomorrow. So that’s my whole story for today! I am in such a good place, and relieved. The warm air sleeping tonight will also relieve my sinuses. Huge ride then tomorrow, will have to really watch my battery power. (AFTER that hill😁). Good night for me now, sleep by 6:00!
