This is antelope country. We get to see many individuals, one even ran across the road just in front of me a few days ago, but today I saw a herd and stopped to watch them frolicking and interacting. It was the coolest thing!
We had short ride today which was so good for me. I’ve learned now that the day after a long ride is harder than the day of as far as muscles and stamina, motivation and, um, hiney😅.
We stopped at a truckstop this morning, and the only thing I could find that was healthy without gluten, dairy, or sugar, was a turkey leg. I knew I would get teased, but I got it anyway. I had it for breakfast, with dinner, shared a bunch, and deboned the rest for tomorrow. Cliff got these pictures of me though. I had to laugh at how we celebrate a long hard day and good accomplishment… Protein and Bed!
I swear, I think Wyoming has more wind than Kansas! The gusts yesterday tried to knock me off the road, and today was straight in the face, hard!
We rode on a main highway half of today, great shoulder but lots of steel belted radial blowouts. Since Kentucky, I have been thinking about how those little end wires break off and work their way through my thick tires into the tube and pop it, and wondered what little wires have worked their way into my life that I need to search out and pull?
A father & son joined us part of our ride today, and as we were leaving we saw that they had just had to fix a tire. It was one of those wires, and reminded me that I had planned to check my tires. I did and you’ll see in the photos what I found in my rear tire, one wire thank you very much, and one nasty little thorn. I’m so grateful to have good tools with me.
I think I’m graduating from croaking to squawking. I need to quit pushing it. I’m still covering my face from the cool air when I ride, and am currently being called the ninja.
I loved the cornerstone of this church, just below the church sign, and the old Texaco station & truck (they remind me of the movie Cars💕)!
Riding past the Sinclair refinery was so interesting, and I love, love, LOVE my new shirt!
Sleep tight! ♥️terri
