It's warm and I didn't feel like getting up today. Nevertheless, I dragged myself out of bed before it got too late. I figured on doing some exploration today. The last time I did this with company, we ventured off into the southern part of the Highline summit. There was a road that went up the mountain that we didn't fully explore. That's where I went today. I felt average to start. A bit sluggish even. Partially due to the hot weather. I made it to the end of OTR in average time. I did moderate tempo to the summit of Highline. I made a right turn onto Adalante, made a few turns onto Oak Pass Ave. I took the road as far as it would go. It ended up exiting near the summit of Adalante. The gradient reached 14%, so it was a brief wall of a climb. From there, I headed back to Highline and then home. Concentration was good, not great. The heat sapped some of the morale from me. Balance and form was good. Ailments, next to none. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I must have gone through about 2/3rds of my Gatorade, no water. Other notes, I saw one cyclist on Highline today.
