it's raining. Perfect day for Zwift. I hopped on the trainer a bit earlier than the last time. I have stuff to do. I botched the video recording. For some reason the recorder stopped before I had a chance to realize it. Nevertheless, the ride went as planned. I warmed up for the first 12 minutes and then the climb began. I had the Holo Replay going for the timed segment. The first mile was mostly playing keep-up. I had my ghost in sight. When I reached the end of the bridge, I increased the tempo gently. I was doing over 3 W/kg most of the time. I took periodic reprieves by sitting, hydrating, and wiping sweat. The miles went fast. My ghost kept me focused. I had some music going and that helped too. After making it past the tunnel, I was able to increase the tempo. I wanted to post a PB. I was doing near 4 W/kg in the last few minutes. I crested the summit with a PB. I think it was under 30 minutes. From there, I headed up the bonus climb. No heroics, just steady tempo. From the summit, I was able to relax a bit. Spin the pedals and stretch on the bike. After making it into town, I was riding with similar riders. I put in a good dig through the sprint zone. I think I got 30 something. From there it was back to the finish. I cooled down for about 5 minutes or so. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. I had my music going. Minimal lapses. Balance and form felt good. Gear was flawless. I adjusted the saddle tilt. I think it's tilted a bit too far down. Will adjust it for the next ride. It felt like I was going to slide off the front, so I was having to push myself back. Nutrition was good, no hunger signs. I went through half my Gatorade and a few sips of water. Other notes, there were about 6 or 7 thousand riders when I hopped on.
