I wanted to get in a quick ride. Keene was the perfect choice. The wind was turbulent, from the North East. I made it to the summit in good time. I think it was a sub 9 minute ascent. I cruised the downhill. There was some salt on the road, so I had to be careful. I put in two good digs over the risers. I didn't bother checking the time when I reached the base. I headed back without delay. The wind was turbulent, so I had reprieves now and again. I was counting off the landmarks. The legs felt good. So did the cardio. I was doing steady tempo, no less than moderate. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments rest while coasting. Then shut it down when I reached the top of Weston. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about. The morale was sufficient. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness here and there. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my Gatorade. No water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, no other cyclists today. No visitors at the Loop Monument. There was a pesky chihuahua chasing me near the base of Keene. He almost got ran over by an on coming car. I had to wave the car to slow down. Suffice it to say, the dog didn't get squashed.
