The weather has turned around. Beautiful! It’s in the low 50’s, winds from the North West. Perfect for a Keene n Back ride. The legs felt a bit sluggish to start. I made it to the summit of the descent in about 12, so average time. The descent was mostly relaxing. There was a cyclist that bridged up to me as I was descending. Seemed like a nice fellow, older than me and kicking butt. I made it to the base in about 29 minutes. I spared no time and headed back up the mountain. I unzipped my jacket and jersey to let the cool air in. The legs felt better as I was progressing on the ascent. The landmarks went quick. I was wondering if the rider ahead of me was going to catch up as I didn't see him turn around when I reached the base. Nonetheless, I was doing no less than moderate tempo. I think the Garmin watch was reading my HR a bit more accurately. I had it turned in wards on the wrist. Perhaps that did the trick. Will have to verify on the next ride. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses. No gremlins. Gear worked flawless. I lubed the chain before departing, so the bike was nice and quiet. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. Although, the stomach was a bit sour when I got back. Perhaps too much Gatorade mixture and not enough water. Suffice it to say, I went through most of the Gatorade. Ailments were minimal. About 15 minutes from the summit, the left inner hip was complaining. Some what of a pinched nerve sensation. I adjusted my tempo with in and out of the saddle technique. The pain went away in a few minutes. Other notes, I saw about 6 or 7 cyclists today! They all looked to be enjoying themselves!
