Today's weather held up. Rain was predicted. I think I snuck in my ride in the perfect window. My GPS time ws delayed by about 4 or 5 minutes. So, my finish time was around 1:09ish hours. The weather was in the low 50's, winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit + arms, knees, cap, and full gloves, 1 baser layer. Turned out that I over-dressed. I made it to top of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill. The wind was mild today, so the descent went just a bit faster than usual. On the way down, as I was nearing the 58 bridge, a cyclist was climbing as I passed him. He looked to be in good shape. After I reached the base, I turned around and headed back. My legs felt good. When I got to the Chavez Center, I stopped to take off my cap and gloves. My hands are a little sore right now. I kept a high tempo for most of the climb, the cool weather aided my progress. I was going by landmarks and by the time I reached the Loop Monument, I put in a dig. I kept the tempo high for the remainder of the climb. Getting in and out of the saddle often. I caught the cyclist that was on his way back up. as I was on the "bridge" I figured he was about 4 or 5 minutes ahead of me from the start. It gave me incentive. I put in another dig over the summit. Concentration was spot on. I was focusing on things I've been doing off the bike and that made the miles go quicker. No gremlins today. Balance and form felt real good. Ailments consisted of mild right calf soreness, soreness in the palm of my hands for not wearing any gloves. Gear is working well. Other notes, it rained a bit on the last mile, mostly sprinkles.
