Well, as it turns out, my new bike has issues with the rear disc brake. So, instead of riding it out of alignment, I decided to hop on Zwift. The bike performed perfectly. It was in syncro mode, so it was shifting between the big and little ring automatically. I've yet to decide if I like it. Nevertheless, the ride went as planned. I was sufficently warmed up by the time I reached the base of the climb. Somewhere around this point, I realized that I forgot my HR sensor. So, I was having to guess where the HR was as the ride went on. It didn't detract much from my analysis during the ride. I kept my Halo Replays in sight for most of the climb. I kept the tempo stead. Around 3 W/kg +/- 0.5 Watts. I was around 40-ish seconds behind my Halo Replay at the summit. I was keeping in mind that I didn't have a rest day since the weekends 32 miler. After reaching the summit, I headed to the bonus climb. I was wondering how my gearing would work since I was running an 11-30 cassette. Turns out that I didn't run out of gears to get up the climb. From there it was downhill, into town, and back to the start finish. I put in a modest dig through the tunnel sprint. I shut it down after about 2 minutes passing the start / finish. Concentration was good, no gremlins. Gear worked flawless. Ailments, some hand soreness. Balance and form was good. Better than the Madone position. Nutrition was so so. After about having half the Gatorade, my GI started to complain. So, I was having to drink water after that. Other notes, didn't bother checking the number of riders. I would imagine that it was in the thousands.
