We are back on the road again after spending a couple of days in a great little cabin in a private campground in Woodridge MB. We headed SE down highway #203 this morning into, yup, a South wind! The wind was manageable due to lots of trees lining the road, nice. The first 40 kms or so were beautiful and quiet with nearly 0 traffic. It was a wildlife day with foxes, a bear and a sizeable turtle on the road. Turning east on Highway 12 we expected to have to ride the gravel shoulder again but traffic was lighter than expected and we rode the edge of the pavement with no traffic problems at all. We did bail to the gravel shoulder on a couple of long hills and if there were several oncoming and approaching vehicles. Courtesy goes both ways. We made really good time with the wind only becoming a nuisance as we turned south directly into it at the international border crossing. The border agent checked our passports and smiled as he wished us a safe trip. Pretty easy going guy. We checked in to the City of Warroad campground, set up and headed to the library to use their Wifi and then it’s off to check out the Lake of The Woods Brewery.
