Needed to get another long ride in to get ready for the covered bridge ride in Lancaster next week, so the best way to do that is rural roads up to Gettysburg and back. For bonus, made sure we crossed two of Frederick County's three covered bridges. Gotta get ready, dontchaknow. Started early to avoid the worst of the heat and that was successful. Not as successful was avoiding the wind from the SW. Not really much to be done about that, and it definitely kicked up the the last 15 miles or so. Better for the workout! Rode some roads we haven't done in awhile, so that was enjoyable. Body held up. Had some hotfoot at the end and hints of cramps about 5 miles to go, but nothing developed from that. Contact points were definitely tired at the end; legs too, but appropriately so, not 100% dead. Guess we're as ready as we're gonna be. w/dan
