I was able to get out at noon today. I think the story of the day was the weather conditions. It was around 80 degrees and the wind was from the south in the beginning. When I crested the Banducci Climb, it was still blowing from the south. By the time got to the base of the descent, the wind changed directions. I ended up riding into a headwind all the way to SS. I was going around 15-16 mph through the false flats. This meant that I would have a tailwind on the way back. That prooved to be the case. But, on the return trip, when approaching Woodford Teh., I had a headwind. That negated any advantage and time gained. The weather was warm. Probably the warmest so far this year. I was feeling the exhaustion of the heat for most of the ride. As far as ailments go, my right hand was numb on a few occasions. It didn't get bad, but I had to constantly shake and stretch it. Other ailment was my lower back, as it has been sore for the past 4 or 5 days. And my right calf was cramping a little. I ended up having to reduce my tempo till it went away, then it was up with the tempo very gentlyl. I was consantly stretching my legs and lower back. I think it helped alot. My gear is working well. Although, the GoPro stopped recording some time in the return trip. I'm assuming it thermaled and shut down as a consequence. My new shorts are working great, no complaints there. The bike was making some slight creeking noises, but nothing to get concerned about. I'm assuming that resitting the skeweres will fix that issue. My concentration was good throughout, with very little lapses. I was riding to my walkman tunes, and I think that helped me stay focused. Balance was good, at some points I had to be conscious (sp?) about it. Other notes, the mini-farm house on the Banducci plateaou (sp?) had a lot of ducks today. No sign of the little baby ducks though.
