1,937 mi on SLR just before MESA RACE -breakfast ride, I rode with and sat with Terry, Curt and Dan. First Watch on River was our destination. -Last ride, easy ride, before the Mesa Race on Saturday. -Tires and tubes are working well w no problems. -Tomorrow I'll charge batteries, clean cassette, wash bike and tires. Lube chain and load her into the car for Friday trip to Mesa. -I played with my sunglasses vs helmet problem and think I now have a way to get the end of the sunglass temples to slip under the head cage on the helmet in such a way as to hold the sunglasses still without slipping down on my nose. -I won't wear a cap under the helmet so I can loosen it to allow for the sunglass temples to fit properly. -My Bontrager race shoes should be OK and I have the ability to tighten/loosen them during the race. -Despite the weight I plan to carry my iPhone on the race. -I'll carry the spare tube, CO2 cartridge & tire iron in my bike pocket and leave the tool bag off the bike. I'll have 6 oz. of honey/hammer for 45, 1:15, 1:45, 2:15, 2:45. I'll have 2 light 27 oz water bottles w 2 Fizz tablets in each, 2+1+1+1 (5) electrolite tablets, -I'll tuck a small, white handkerchief in my bike jersey and I plan to take an undershirt but probably not wear it under the new Ralpha bibs. -no watch, no green ID tag, no hard candy, *I think I'm as ready as I can get. The saturday forcast is calling for wind but it is still 4 days off and could easily be wrong.
