I was expecting a package today, so I got out a little earlier than usual. Also because the weather is getting a bit warmer. My legs felt ok for the first few miles. I did good time to the Banducci summit. I decided to do modest tempo for pretty much the entire ride. The only dig that I did was over the top on SS. I was in the saddle grinding my way up the last few hundred yards. I got to Boss Hogs in just under 1:20 hrs. I rode with my old Performance Gel gloves to see how my hands felt with them during this ride. I experienced some numbness in the right hand, but it went away in a minute or two. This was also the first SS ride I did with my seat just a bit lower than the previous ride. The idea being, will my calf muscles cramp? On this ride it didn't, so I'm going to keep the saddle position the way it is. The gloves, they felt a little bulky in the palms, but I think I'll try them for at least the next ride. I think the issue of the day was lack of continuous concentration. I just couldn't get that locked down feeling that I seek when I'm riding. I was saying to myself after the ride that my body was leading, but my mind just didn't want to follow. I sucked it up, and just dealed with it the best I could. Leg Balance was good for the most part. Gear, no complaints there. Fortunately the weather held up, no serious heat and no wind resversals.
