The weather has turned grey and precipitous. A good day for an indoor ride. I took a nap after breakfast, so hopping on the trainer was a bit delayed. I decided to do some exploring on the MyWhoosh app. I chose the Australia Cities Loop. It was about 16 miles in length with 800 - 900 feet of elevation gain. I got out what I wanted. A sufficient workout, but not too demanding. I'm lining things up for this weekend's Spooktacular Ride. The body felt good. The right thigh has been exhibiting some soreness in the deep tissue. It did not escalate, but I've decided to keep things minimal. The next ride will be on Wednesday to the top of OTR in order to make last minute preparations. I kept the ride below 3 W/kg most of the time. There were some climbing segments that lasted between 5 to 12 minutes, or so. MyWhoosh is similar to Zwift in quality and feel. Although, MyWhoosh is free to use for the moment. It doesn't show how many riders there are logged in, but I did see quite a few when my ride was nearing completion. Concentration was pretty good. Some impatience in the first half of the ride. I was determined to make it to the finish. Gear worked flawless. There was a mystery knocking noise while grinding out of the saddle. Turned out that the leveling feet on the trainer needed to be adjusted. Pending confirmation on the next ride. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness on out of the saddle efforts. Some right thigh soreness that didn't escalate. The sit bones felt good. No clue if the difference was the shorts, but will likely mark the ones I used today as they felt compliant. Nutrition was good. I went through most of my sport drink. No water. Other notes, I thinking of going to Action Sports to pick up a pair of shorts. They are having a 50% off sale and I want one so that I can keep them specifically for important events.
Other notes, I ended the ride by cooling down for a few minutes till the HR dropped below 112 BPM
