I had stuff to do in the morning, but it didn't delay my departure. The weather has warmed up a bit. It's in the 60's now. Modest winds from the South East, but turbulent. I wore arms, knees and a cap with a thick base layer. I also put some newspaper in my jersey. I made it to the top of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill. I had a tailwind in the first couple miles or so. As I was descending, the wind shifted 180. I put in two digs over the risers. After making it to the base, I noticed a Tesla Cyber Truck parked at the local Cafe. I stopped to take photos and a quick video. After that, I removed the newspaper from my jersey and removed my head cap. Shortly after, I commenced the return climb. It went quick. The first half of the climb was aided with a tailwind. The legs felt pretty good. I was counting off the land marks. Checking the time all the while. Time seemed to go quick. I was alternating between sitting and standing. I was counting my breaths and tried to sync it with the different positions on the bike. It helped keep the tempo high. Suffice it to say, I was going good tempo for the better half of the climb. The morale got better as I made progress. I was guessing my time to the summit. I think I was within a couple minutes. I did good time, all things considered. After cresting the summit, I let up and allowed myself to recover. Shortly after, made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone for most of the ride. The good weather helped! Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness while out of the saddle. The knees and inner quads/hamstring felt good. Gear worked flawlessly. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank most of my sport drink. Other notes, I saw two cyclists on their way up Keene as I was descending. It was a great day to get out!
