The weather is great. I’m so glad I convinced myself to get out. My legs felt a bit heavy in the morning, so I expected the ride to be a slow one. I wore arms, knees a headcap and a thick base layer. I also put some newspaper in my jersey for good measure. The wind was a bit turbulent. It hinted on a North West current on the way out, but did a 180 on the other side. I botched the timer. I lost about 2 minutes of metrics. Good thing I noticed. I made it to the summit in good time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs over the risers. After making it to the base, I removed the newspaper from my jersey, stashed it in the saddle bag and then headed back up the mountain. The climb felt quick. The legs were much more responsive then I anticipated. The miles went quick. I had stuff to think about. I counted off the landmarks as I normally do. The morale was good and got better as the climb went on. I was able to guess my time about a mile from the summit. I was at max going over the top. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover. The wind was heading north, so it was a slow return back home from that point. I shut it down after reaching the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses or gremlins. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness. The knees hinted on soreness going over the top. They feel perfectly fine now. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had to feed a bit before the ride. Glad I did. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists, but there were some motorcyclists.
