A ride on the NH Ice Cream Trail to Nana's Snack Shack, Weare, NH. Ride begins and ends in Goffstown, NH at Barnard Park. The route avoids Rt 114 as much as possible. Parker Station Rd to River Rd makes a fine ride. Babbling brooks, streams, lakes, ponds, etc. gurgle along the ride throughout. No photo opps though till making it up to Concord Stage Road (Rt 77), where I found - a Concord Stagecoach (perhaps). Concord Stage Coaches are so called since they were made in Concord, NH. They single-handedly opened the West you know. Reservoir Dr leads up to Horace Lake, and it's Dam. Nana's is in Weare, with it's historical displays in the center of town, and a good General Store at which you can re-water. Avoiding Rt 114 brings you over to Rt 149, with ok traffic and shoulders... After a spin past Daniels Lake there is no avoiding Rt 114 for a short stretch. Even then you must resort to UNPAVED Riverdale Rd to avoid Rt 114, else you're stuck on Rt 114. Steel yourself for either at Just Like Mom's Bakery with a pastry and a coffee perhaps, it's been voted the Best Bakery in NH! (they do it by not spreading themselves too thin, the hours are limited, check ahead first!) Cross a branch of the Piscataquog on the way back into town on Rt 13. Did you see that!? A few more twisty routings, avoiding Rt 114 (go on: use Rt114 if you're looking for "Services") and you're done.
