The weather is typical Spring weather in Tehachapi. In the low 60’s, mild winds from the North West. I headed to the Alpine Forest. I was debating on adding the Buffalo run, but decided to hold off till the weekend when I’ll do a big ride. The legs were average to start, but I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. When I reached the OTR summit, I pulled over to remove my head cap and newspaper in the jersey. Suffice it to say, I was getting warm and needed to remove layers. The Banducci Wall went as usual. There was some traffic mitigation. The Alpine forest climb went quick. The morale was good. I had a few things to think about. I counted off the speed bumps as I was making my way to the summit. I was near max going over the top. I zipped around the backside and had fun on some of the dips, reaching over 41 MPH. From there, I headed to the summit of Banducci. I pulled over to recover for about a minute. The GoPro had plenty of battery life remaining. Shortly after, I headed back down the mountain. It was mostly safe. I was cautious descending off the Banducci Wall. There was a car behind and some oncoming traffic. It was mostly fun and games descending off OTR. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down after the dig to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. The morale felt good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness while out of the saddle. Gear held up perfect. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. Perhaps a hint. I went through most of my sport drink. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
