Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

So, I did the double magumba ride today :D. I planned for this ride for a few days and I got everything right in terms of the logistics. I got out around noon time and the weather was favorable. A bit warm and winds from the north. After putting my extra bottles into the mailbox, I started the ride modest . I made it to the top of the descent in about 10 to 11 minutes. I cruised the downhill, and favored the drops for my position. At this point, my legs felt nice and supple. No heaviness. The return trip went pretty much as planned. I did good tempo, almost the same tempo as all the other Keene rides. There were no heroics or digs. Just steady all the way up. I had some right hand numbness that seems to be the case on this ride. I was constantly shaking it to get that circulation increased. When I reached the summit, I fed. 1 power bar, and almost the remainder of what was left in my bottles. Once I finished, I changed my camera mode and commenced. On normal days, I would hammer this part, trying to reach 40mph for kicks. Today I cruised it, but as I got further, I realized that I was almost doing 40mph. There was a car that pulled in front of me, and I must have gotten a bit of its draft. I was almost spinning out and I was wondering why. I looked at my cassette a few times, and it was in the 11 tooth. Then looking at my speed, and it read 40+mph! It was easy, being the reason I was surprised. I reached the bottom and mailbox. I quickly drank what was left of my, then, current bottles and put the new ones in my cages. I changed the camera mode and continued from there. Overall, no more than a couple minutes of resting time. My legs felt pretty good at this time, but I played it a bit conservative just to make sure I had enough energy to make the last half of the ride. My concentration was good at this point, because I was ticking over the miles, and it didn’t feel like it was taking forever. I did the remainder of the ride by thinking of some milestones. At this point, the next milestone was the little kicker that starts the OTR rollers. The next was the Banducci wall and the summit. I had a headwind going up the wall and all the way to the summit. My body continued to feel good. My legs were a bit heavy, but nothing out of my anticipation at this point. At the summit, I changed the SD card and battery on the Gopro, and I ate half of my last power bar. I took a few gulps of water and Gatorade and continued. The descent was fun, I did a full tuck. I think I hit 40mph at some point. I reached the basin and the winds were substantial. I didn’t want to put my body in the red-zone. I kept the tempo modest all the way to SS. At this point, the ailments started. Primarily, my right calf. Everything else felt good. It cramped every now and again. All I could do was ease up on the tempo and stretch, stretch, stretch. Fortunately, it didn’t turn into an injury. When I reached the top of SS, I fed the last of the power bar and took in some fluids. I got off the bike, stretching for a minute. I then continued very modest. Being that I was doing slow tempo, I decided to put more importance on my balance. I’m really anxious, trying to get that part locked down. I noticed that my left leg (inner thigh) was closer to the seat than the right thigh. I tried moving my knees closer to the center of the top tube. That sort of helped. When I reached the exiting point of SS, I told myself that if I could get my thighs aligned, that it must be the saddle position. Being that it looked left of center. I did steady tempo to Pelliser (sp?), and got off my bike as soon as I reached the left turn. I took a good look at the saddle position, and it didn’t seem left of center, it looked dead on. I decided to continue from there without changing the saddle position. The winds, at this point, was mostly on my back. So, I was able to put more attention into my balance without having to worry about reducing my tempo. I found that if I moved my right leg closer to the top tube on each pedal stroke, that my balance felt better. I continued with the remainder of the ride with this new approach. It felt good. In the meantime, I was having to mitigate the cramping of my right leg. Again, no injuries incurred, just constant attention played on this ailment. I was able to do good tempo on the last ascent. No digs on the last kicker, just nice and steady. Once I made it to Route 202, I knew I had the difficult parts over. From this point on, my right leg was cooperative. I was able to do good tempo, and enjoyed the mostly downhill remainder of the ride. I made it home in just over 3 hours. A good time. My gear worked excellent. No exceptions. No mis-shifts like the previous ride. I cleaned the chain and the rear derailleur pulleys. I think that helped a bit. I need to buy a new chain and cassette, amongst other things. Other notes, there were a lot of people at the loop monument. I felt sorry for them, because there were no trains, for the entire time that I was in proximity to the tracks. I think this was the most people I’ve seen. How ironic, hehe.
