On a grey morning with a fine drizzle, nine loiterers set out towards Denham on the Sunday short ride. Riding with us was Anna on her first ride with us.
We made our way to Gerrards Cross via Hollybush Lane and elevenses at Jung’s Patisserie. Has anyone suggestions for elevenses on a Sunday in this area as the service at Jungs is getting worse. Having extracted ourselves from Jungs John J, Jane, and Clive left us for home and we headed out of Gerrards Cross to Hedgerley Lane which we followed to the A355 which when crossed we pedalled past the local football ground, over the M40 and on to the rear entrance of The Swan PH at Beaconsfield.
Lunch done we left The Swan and returned across the motorway making our way to Burnham Beeches via Ship Hill and Park Lane. We traversed the north end of ‘The Beeches’ to Egypt (the loiterers go the all the exotic places} and crossing the Beaconsfield Road headed to the One Pin crossroads at Hedgerley. We continued on familiar roads through Stoke Poges and Wexham Street to Black Park and tea at the San Remo Cafe where John M and Anna departed for home and Lawrie, Dave T, Tony H, and myself loitered over a cup of tea.
Refreshed we left the park by the Pinewood side gate and returned to Uxbridge via Chandlers Hill with the group dispersing on the way.
