I usually begin and end the riding season with trail rides. Old Man Winter threatens to finally show up this week, and the holidays are upon us, so this may be the end of the regular 2017 riding year. I accordingly tried to squeeze every kind of biking into one ride: road, trail, MTB, gravel grinding and cyclocross. I took the Tricross, which already had the cross wheels and toe clips on from the conversion to commuting bike. I took the rack trunk off, put a saddle clip on, and then just took the saddle bag from the Orca. I headed for my usual Linear Trail circumnavigation of Manhattan. Along the way I detoured around CiCo Park. Then while crossing the levy I got a wild hare and turned off onto the Manhattan River Trail (MRT) singletrack! I greeted another rider with "I don't know what I'm doing out here, but I'm having fun doing it!" No KOM was in danger, but I posted a respectable time despite being clueless and ill-equipped. I flatted after that at Northeast Park. I had a long-stemmed spare tube - I swapped that for something more appropriate after reaching home. It was sunny, about 62 °F, with SSW winds around 10 mph. I wore the green Endura poly long-sleeved jersey and tights, and regular shoes since I've put toe clips back on the Tricross.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
