A beautiful December Spring day! Perfect for the first test ride of my other big pre-Black Friday bargain, a pair of Watteam Powerbeat G2 power meters for both road bikes. Installation is complete on the Slice, so I repeated my last TT ride as a test. I can compare the power meter to the estimates from Strava on the previous ride. Both rides were of comparable difficulty, the first with a suffer score of 122 and the second at 94, at 25.4km/h and 26.2km/h average speeds, respectively. The second ride's overall measured power was about 25% higher than the estimate for the first. When I calculate the power from the three hill climbs using "Motion of a Cyclist" I get divergent answers. On northbound Seth Child the power meter is 16% high; on southbound Seth Child it is 29% high; but on the Little Grill hill it's bang-on at 2.7% low! More samples seem to be in order. The total time might seem long because I stopped to talk to a neighbor just before getting home. It really was spring-like: sunny, 62 °F, with light breezes. Accordingly, I wore the uniform of Cannondale bibs and SmartWool jersey, with just no-finger riding gloves.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
