On an overcast, grey morning Jackie, Graham, John M, Andy, Lawrie, and I cycled out of Uxbridge, around Denham Roundabout to pedal through Denham Course to Denham Village. We continued on along the Pyghtle to Denham Green and on to Tilehouse Lane and elevenses at The Crew Room, Denham Aerodrome.
Tea and coffee, not to mention a bacon butty, we regained Tilehouse Lane via Haling's Lane and continued on down to the North Orbital Road. A short way along the main road we turned up along Chalfont Lane which we followed over the M25 to Robert’s Lane which followed to Horn Hill and on to Gorlands Lane. On reaching Vache Lane we descended into Chalfont St Giles and lunch at The Merlins Cave. We arrived at the pub shortly after a group of 17 walkers so there was a longish wait for food resulting in a slightly longer lunch break.
We left Merlin Cave and headed off up Deanway to Three Households where we turned onto Narcot Lane leading us to Gold Hill Common. Continuing on we turned down Bull Lane to Layters Way then a path that led to Gerrards Cross Common by Latchmoor Pond. Riding round the common we joined the A40 along which we rode to Denham then through the golf course to take tea at Denham Country Park Visitor Centre, Andy left us to head off home. After tea we cycled into Uxbridge where the group dispersed.
