On a cold grey morning 13 loiterers went forth on the short ride. Paul led Alec, Andy, Dave T, Graham, Jackie, Karen (new to the club), Jo, Lawrie, Liliane, Robin, Sandra, and I out of Uxbridge to Pinewood via Chandlers Hill. Skirting the studios we descended Alderbourne Lane to Fulmer. We climbed out of Fulmer to Stoke Common Road and continued on to Farnham Common and elevenses at Burnham Beeches Cafe. While here Dave B made an appearance on a smart new steed and joined us for refreshments before heading off on his own.
Paul led us across the ‘Beeches’ along Halse Drive onto Park Lane and so to Burnham and lunch at The Old Five Bells. The pub was quite busy when we arrived but we found room for all of us and although the service was a bit slow enjoyed a nice lunch break.
We left Burnham via Lincoln Hatch Lane and Green Lane before crossing to Grove Lane via a track. It was then back through Burnham Beeches on Lord Mayor’s Drive, skirting Farnham Common shops to make our way to and down Parsonage Lane to Park Road. Paul then led us through Stoke Poges where we said goodbye to Sandra to Farthing Green and Rowley Lanes to Black Park where six of the group decided to carry on home and six enjoyed a tea break at the cafe. Paul the led us back to Uxbridge.
