Today's weather was great. Nice and cool, just enough for 1 base layer, arms and knees. The winds were a bit strong today, but in the favorable direction. I ended up doing the complete ride. My legs were a bit heavy up until I reached the top of the Banducci wall. After that, they responded a bit better. I did moderate tempo for most of the ride. The head-wind on the way out was pretty bad. I didn't do any digs, just nice and steady tempo. I thought the return trip was going to be a little bit more enjoyable, but the winds were off a bit and was a cross-tail on the way back. Nevertheless, it was a welcome relief from the first half of the ride, going into the headwind. My concentration was right on. I was in the zone for almost the entire ride. Balance was also good. My legs were ticking over perfectly. Gear is working well, I think the bike started to creak a bit on the last 1/4 of the ride. Hard to tell with my headphones. The Gopro turned off late in the ride. the battery doesn't seem to be holding its charge as long as it used to. I'm going to switch batteries to see if it's just the limitation of the battery, or its age. Other notes, I saw about 6 cyclists coming the other way as I was crossing OTR to Banducci. Looks like they got an early start, as they were wearing long sleeves and jackets.
Another note, when I was riding down Mariposa, I had my head down concentrating on the bike lane, trying to keep my wheels on top of it. When all of a sudden, I glanced up and hit a bush that had made its way into the rode. I didn't see it till it was too late, I ended up clipping it, but no damage or spill!
