Today was a great day to get out. Better yet, it's the new year! The winds were from the south, but it turned out to be a bit of a cross-wind. I did moderate tempo in the first half of the ride and good tempo on the last half. I ended up going left on Willow Springs to see what was at the end of the road, what the conditions were like and how far it is from the nearest cross street, Teh Blvd. Turned out to be about 1 mile or so, there wasn't a bike lane, the road was a bit chewed up. But there wasn't much traffic. Teh. Blvd was more of the same, but more traffic. I turned around at that point. Not sure if I'll ever head east sometime. My legs felt good, but it was tough to gauge due to the unusual wind conditions. I was expecting a strong tail-wind on the way back, as the way out was quite a workout going into the wind. The wind turned out to be a cross-tailwind. So, I didn't benefit from the winds as good as on previous ride. Nevertheless, I did good time, nothing spectacular. I didn't have any ailments on today's ride and my concentration was right on the money. Balance was a bit off since I had to lean a bit into the crosswind. But, good considering. Gear is working well, still some slight noises from the bike, as always, will try and figure it out. Other notes, I took some photos of Teh. Blvd and a Cessna towing a glider.
