What a day it was! So many things happened today. I woke up thinking that I wouldn't have to go to lab in the morning. So, I fasted as usual. I tried calling CC, and no one answered. I figured they were away for a bit. So, I called again for 30 minutes at a time. By the time it was 11am, I realized that they had a day off. So then, I had to decide, do I go to lab, or call CC tomorrow in hopes they can call the pharmacy. Lab closes for lunch at 11:30am. I paced around a bit and decided to wait till their lunch break was over at 12:30pm. Mind you, I had nothing to eat, and would not be able to until I got back from lab. In the meantime, I hopped on the computer and continued to work on my website until about 12:15ish. Got dressed and went to lab. When I got back, around 1ish, I fed. Took a 45 minute nap. Got up, got dressed for the ride and headed out. By this time, it was past 3pm. Fortunately, I was on par for the shortest ride of the 3. I had no idea how I was going to feel. The weather was perfect, cool and winds from the north. I wasn't sure how my body was going to feel. When I got out the door, after about the first 1/4 mile, my body felt great. I did good time to the top of the descent. doing moderate to good tempo. I noticed that my HR was higher than normal, but in a good way. I felt like I could push my body harder than normal. So, I did the descent, in moderate tempo. Got to the base in good time. I started the climb in moderate tempo and worked my way to high tempo. My stomach was feeling a bit backed up, so I just focused on the ride, and let my body shut the bowels up, lol! Once I reached the lower part of the loop, I started my hard tempo, monitoring my body. I felt real good, did a dig over the loop monument and continued with the same tempo after recovering a bit from the dig. My ailments were moot. Just the usual pains of exhaustion. My lower back was a bit sore at times, and I could feel some grinding, but no biggy. My concentration was fantastic, just in that perfect zone where I can keep the high tempo going. Balance was also good, my legs hooked up great. I was ticking over the pedals with a nice high cadence without having to mash the pedals and bogging. Bike gear is working great, absolutely no complaints. Overall great ride!
