Opted for a ride with less climbing today. Chose the Independence-Albany-Jefferson loop for some miles and to take advantage of the nice fall day with minimal wind. The first segment to Independence was 17 miles and went through the Ankeny Wildlife Refuge. The second segment, 13 miles, headed north on Buena Vista Rd, through the little town of Buena Vista then along the Luckiamute River to Springhill Rd. The next 6.5 miles on Springhill Rd went to the Highway 20 junction in Albany. Crossed the bridge over the Willamette then headed east out of town. There was a 1/2 mile detour on Old Salem Rd, which forced me to the other side of the river. Got back on the original route at the Knox Butte intersection. The final 11 miles went through Millersburg, then onto Morningstar Rd, Santiam Bluff Rd and the last 2 miles on Jefferson Highway.
