Fantastic fall ride in the Trout Lake and Glenwood area of southwest Washington. Started from the Wet Planet rafting put-in at Husum. The first 15 miles headed north on Highway 141 to Trout Lake. This section is a lengthy, steady, gradual climb. Around 1500 feet elevation gain to Trout Lake. The next few miles travels through farms and along a creek. There is a 3/4 mile gravel section on River Rd, just before Sunnyside Rd. Next is a 1.5 mile climb with 700 ft elevation gain, most at 7-9% grade, on Trout Lake Highway toward Glenwood. There is a cemetery 3 miles before Glenwood. Opted to stop in there. Met two other riders. Glenwood Station store, mile 32, was the next rest stop. The next 16 miles went through the Conboy Wildlife Refuge, with one last short climb around mile 46. The final 7 miles to BZ Corner was nearly all downhill. Finally, the last 5 miles was back on Highway 141 to Husum.
