Well. It was epic for a trio of over-60s who are in questionable shape. But it featured a mobile aid station! And a LOT of climbing! And the planned bailout at 22! Truth be told, clearly could have poached the whole event, stopped at two aid stations, pretended to have paid. But we didn't. All three OGs in the end were pretty happy to be done at 22. There had been considerations about doing 30. Cooler heads prevailed. The mobile aid station arrived at the prearranged spot (13.8) the same time we did and it was fabulous. Chairs, a table with a tablecloth (!), lots of snacks. Worked out GREAT. Big props to The Woman. Stunning fall day, started cool but we ditched second shirts at the aid station and enjoyed dry, fall temps in the high 70s. Trails in great shape, even the normally wet areas. Shuttle plan worked to perfection (we've go this down now), with truck at end to haul three bikes back to start point to get other cars. All in all, a great time. w/Mark, Dan
