The sun is out and the sky is clear. I couldn't pass it up. I went to Keene and back. The temperature is in the 50's. Winds from the South East, but turbulent. I wore arms, knees, thick base layer, head cap and some newspaper in the jersey. The legs felt good to start. I did good time to the summit of the descent. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs over the risers. My body responded well. I made it to the base in good time. After reaching the base, I stopped to adjust my knee warmers. Shortly after, I got back on the road and made my way back. The wind was calm and in some places a tail wind. I felt good and was able to settle into a energetic tempo. The landmarks went quick. I had a few things to think about and that made time go by quick. Towards the end of the climb, I was estimating my ETA to the summit. I was within a minute or two. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover on the bike and then made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. My patience was mostly under control. No lapses worth mentioning or gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand numbness on the out of the saddle efforts. Mostly towards the end of the climb. Gear worked flawlessly. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I only went through about half my sport drink. A mosquito flew into my mouth as I was descending, so I rinsed my mouth with water and spit it out. Other notes, there were some trains on the Loop as I was going out and back. No cyclists today.
