Today was a great day to get out! I had lab in the morning and I ran to Walmart afterwards. I had breakfast when I got home and took an hour nap. I convinced myself to get out for a ride and that's what I did. It was ideal for a ride to the Alpine Forest. The temperature was in the mid / upper 60's. Mild winds from the North West. I wore arms, knees, head cap and some newspaper in the jersey. The legs felt good today. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on 6 o'clock alert. I was more calm when I entered the Alpine Forest. I kept the tempo steady and did in and out of the saddle efforts. In the saddle mostly to let the hands recover and stretch the legs. The landmarks went quick. I was near max going over the top. I zipped around the backside, reaching 40 MPH on the descent. After making it to the Banducci Summit, pulled over to recover for a few moments and let traffic by before heading back down the mountain. I forgot to check the time to the summit, but likely no less then good average. The traffic mitigation was minimal, so it felt safe. Descending off the Banducci Wall felt good, with minimal wind conditions and minimal traffic. After making it to OTR, I was able to enjoy the downhill. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down after digging it to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. A bit impatient to start, but felt better after reaching the summit of OTR. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just some usual hand numbness. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists or runners today.
