I had to scratch the morning ride and decided to hop on Zwift instead. I chose the mountain route. Turned out to be the ideal ride as I was going to do Keene today. The legs felt good to start. I put in 8 minutes out-doors before scratching the ride, so that was my warmup. It took about 10 minutes to reach the base of the climb. The climb went good. I was doing no less than moderate tempo and putting 3 W/kg + or - about 0.25-ish. I was within my limits. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts. I was beating my Halo Replay, so that kept me motivated. I played it by landmarks. First the bridge, then the snow, then the tunnel. I was checking the time and guessing where I'd be in x-number of minutes. It helped keep my mind occupied. After reaching the tunnel, I kept the tempo going. I think I sat up for a few seconds, then finished the climb. I put in a 90 day PR. From there, it was the bonus climb. I kept it in my small gears, pushing around 3 W/kg, plus or minus. After reaching the summit, I headed back down the mountain. After reaching the base, there was a robo pacer group that I caught up to and passed. I put in one dig through the sprint segment. No clue what placing I got. It took a few minutes from there to reach the finish. I shut it down the moment I crossed the finished and let the HR drop gradually to 112 BPM.
Concentration was good. My patience was in check. I was in the zone most of the time. Balance and form was good. I like the position on the Madone. I will be moving the saddle forward on the Emonda for the next ride (out-door). Nutrition was good. I had to feed a Clif Bar and some sport drink as I was a bit low on energy. That did the trick. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness on the climbs, while grinding out of the saddle. The usual shaking of the hands mitigated that problem. Gear worked flawlessly, although the mid gears were skipping, will have to adjust it later. Other notes, I think there were about 4500 riders on the Watopia map when I hopped on.
