The weather is great, I couldn't let it pass me by. I got out a bit late, but that just meant the weather would be a bit warmer. I wore arms, knees, head cap, a jacket and face mask with light base layer. I think I got it right. The legs felt good to start. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the summit of the descent. I cruised the downhill. I put in two strong digs on the risers. After making to the base, I removed my face mask and stashed it in my saddle bag. Shortly after, I headed back up the mountain. As I was approaching the Cesar Chavez center, I decided to remove my jacket. It took a couple minutes to remove it and place it around my waist. I decided to keep my head cap on. From there, I headed back up the mountain, no more stopping. The landmarks went quick. I was doing no less then moderate tempo. The temperature allowed my to elevate my tempo as the air was cool and dense with O2. After making it past the second dip, I was feeling better in the morale. Around this point, perhaps earlier, I realized that I forgot to turn off the water when I washed my car yesterday. That gave me a bit of incentive to get back home and check. Suffice it to say, the tempo was approaching high as I neared the summit. I was near max when I reached the summit. I took a few moments to recover on the bike and headed back home. I put in the usual dig over Weston and shut it down at the top.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and no gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just some minor hand soreness or numbness. Nutrition was good. I had no hunger signs. I went through more than half my sport drink. No water. Gear worked flawlessly.
Other notes, no cyclists today. There was a couple at the Loop Monument. I waved at them as I was descending.
