Well, it is my birthday today. It turns out that it is also my ride day. The weather was fantastic. Nice and cool, mostly sunny skies. Winds from the North West. Great day to get out. I wore arms, knees, head cap and a jacket. Turned out to be the perfect combination. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went well. I was near max going over the top. I was happy to make it to the Arosa climb. I let me climbing legs settle in before laying down good tempo. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts. The landmarks went quick. I reached near max going over the top. I zipped around the backside, had some fun on the dips and made my way to the summit of Banducci. I made it there in good time. When I got there, I took a few moments to recover and let traffic by before heading back down the mountain. I had a tailwind on the way down and there was minimal traffic mitigation. I was able to descend off the Banducci Wall safely. Descending off OTR was mostly fun and games. Very relaxing. I stopped once to take photos of the local horses. From there, it was non-stop back to home. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about and the morale felt good going out the door. Balance and form was good. I adjusted the saddle a bit forward. I am liking it. I will try it out for another ride or two and decide if I want to move it more. Ailments were minimal. Some slight hand numbness while grinding out of the saddle. Nutrition was good. I fed a banana and some grapes before the start of the ride. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today, but there was a runner at the Alpine Forest.
