It's continuing to cool. In the low 60's, clouds, winds from the North West. Today was the first time I wore my new helmet. It feels good. I like the closure mechanism. Easy to use and dial in. The frontal part of the helmet covers more of the forehead area than my Bell helmet. When my head is facing downwards and I'm looking forward, I cans see the tip of my helmet and the sides as well. By no means distracting or detracting from the riding experience. The legs felt pretty good from the start. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. Banducci wall went well, as did the remainder of the climb. I took a few moments rest at the summit and let the traffic by. The downhill was fun, doing the tuck. The first few miles, making my way to the valley floor was a bit sketchy in the mind. Some hints of gremlins, and not to mention a brain fart followed by a bit of concentration lapse happened. I eased up a bit and let my mind get back into focus. From that point on, concentration was good. I made my way to SS in good time. Past the tunnel in about 1:22 hours. Made my way through SS and headed back. There was a sufficient cross-tail through most of the valley floor. Making it to Boss Hogs in about 1:23 hours. The last climb felt good. I held good tempo and a modest push over the summit. Concentration was good for the most part, as stated, a lapse while making my way out to SS. Balance and form was good. Ailments, next to none. Gear is working well. I like the helmet. Definitely a keeper. Other notes, I saw 1 cyclist today as I was making my way up to Route 202, on the return. I kept my distance, kind of keeping that competitiveness in check.
