It's a nice day. I got up as early as I could, but I slept in just a bit more than I should. Nevertheless, I got out for my bike ride. The temperature is in the 70's, cool winds from the North West. The legs were a bit heavy to start. The first half of the ride was the worst. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time, but I felt sluggish. Somewhat caused by the heat of the sun. I have to acclimate to the hotter weather now. The Banducci Wall was mostly moderate tempo. I was looking around for cars as almost always. I relaxed a bit when I reached the Arosa climb. The body continued to feel a bit sluggish, so I settled into a modest tempo to let the climbing legs warm up. I was weaving my way up while in the saddle. After making it to the top, I made my way around the backside. I had fun on the downhill. I made it to the summit of Banducci in average time. Once there, I took a few moments to recover and let traffic by. Then I headed back down the mountain. There was a controlled traffic zone, but I wasn't delayed. I zipped on through. During this time, I was thinking about whether to do the Buffalo Run. I was feeling better in the legs, so I decided to go for it. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe. No traffic from behind, with minimal traffic on the opposite side. After the descent, I made my way up to Highline and then the Buffalo neighborhood. I hopped back on Highline for the return and to OTR. Descending off OTR was mostly relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and the dig to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. A bit impatient to start. Perhaps a bit discouraged from the sluggish sensation in the first half of the ride. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I fed half a banana before departing. I went through my sport drink, no water. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand numbness while grinding out of the saddle. Gear worked flawlessly. There's still a mystery click. I'm going to try torquing the chainring bolts. If that doesn't fix it, then perhaps torquing the bottom bracket might help. The power meter didn't work today. Likely due to the battery needing replacing. Other notes, no cyclists today.
