It continues to be on the cool side. It was less than 70 degrees when I got out. Winds from the North West. A good day to go to Keene. I wore arm warmers on top of my arm coolers and a thick base layer. Before the ride started, I adjust the handlebars by tilting them upward ever so slightly. I like it better this way. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. I made it to the base in good average time. After reaching the base, I checked the front when for brake rubbing. The rubbing persists, so I will likely need to bleed the brakes again. Shortly after, I headed back up the mountain. I stopped at the Chavez Center to remove my arm warmers and left my arm coolers on. It was starting to warm up, but still comfortable. The climb went quick. As usual, I went by the landmarks. The GPS announcements helped. I think the readings were more accurate today. I was in the 180 Watts range most of the way up the mountain. The morale felt better as the climb progressed. I elevated the tempo till I reached the summit. I was near max going over the top. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments to recover on the bike. From there, I headed back home. I put in the usual dig to the top of Weston and then shut it down.
Concentration was good. Patience was in check. I was focused and in the zone most of the time. No gremlins worth mentioning. The morale was good. Ailments were minimal. Some minor soreness and numbness while grinding out of the saddle. Balance and form felt good, although not great. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana. Perhaps some grapes. Gear worked flawlessly. However, the front brake continues to rub, so I plan on bleeding the brakes before the next ride. The mystery clicks are there, but not as pronounced as the last ride. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were some spectators at the loop monument as I was making my way back.
