Icefield tent camp Jasper provincial Park to snaring river campground (north of Jasper) Went for a hike on Wilcox Ridge near where I camp previous night. It overlooks the Columbia icefield is just stunning. The mountains hanging glaciers, icy, blue ponds and streams in Verden forest are outstanding. This is truly a great capstone for a ride on the Divide. I now feel like I’m accomplished steps. Today’s ride is mostly downhill on pavement, which was a blessing since my legs felt like lead. The route follows a growing river of icy blue glacier runoff with two spectacular waterfalls in route. I had a celebratory steak dinner(only my second of the trip) in jasper. I now feel like I’ve completed the Great Divide, even with the side trips and deviations from the route. It is nice to have an accomplishment that worked so hard for and plan for for so long. I continued in the north to give me an even shorter date tomorrow so I can get my bike boxand get everything organized for my trip back on Wednesday.
