Fantastic weather. In the 60's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was looking around every few moments. I was near max going over the top. The morale felt a bit better when I arrived at Arosa. The climb went quick. I had stuff to think about. After reaching the speed bumps, I was nearing max as I reached the top. I let the intensity gradually increase till I reached the top. I made my way around the backside and then to the top of Banducci. I took a few moments to recover and then let traffic by. Shortly after, I headed down the mountain. There was no traffic from behind, so it was safe. I was able to let the brakes go while descending off the Banducci Wall. I feathered them as oncoming traffic passed. From there, I headed up Highline and then to the Buffalo neighborhood. I hopped back on Highline and then to OTR. Descending off OTR was relaxing. I was able to enjoy it and the cool air made it even better. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about and the morale was good. I was a bit impatient here and there. There were hints of lapses in concentration, but nothing too detracting. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I drank all of my sport drink, no water. I had oatmeal on the morning. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawlessly. I cleaned the rotors and brake pads yesterday with alcohol and micofiber towels. Interesting, it had the effect of centering the brake calipers. After spinning the front wheel, it was slient. I have to check to see if they remain that way (after lunch). Other notes, I saw one cyclist and a walker today.
