Didn't feel like more roadie riding, so onto the Blackthorn, with the intent of getting some climbing in ... Ended up prettttty tired at the end; not a death march but being done wasn't a sad moment. Appropriately tired at the end and thinking about a nap ... Combined two standard loops into one big one to get the same amount of effort as if riding pavement for a coupla hours. Sure enough, coupla hours of MTB is worth more than that in roadie world. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Trails have plenty of greenery this time of year -- any spot that's not deep shade has grass and in some places it was tricky to find the trail. Surprising amount of damage from the heavy rains last week -- not really much muddy but dirt washed away from roots; into the machine-cut dips and so on. Coupla stream crossings were ... different ... with rocks moved around. More trees than usual down; many requiring dismount and lifting the bike over.
